Existing at the intersection of advanced tech and music experience, Music x Technology is an ongoing collaboration brought to life by Microsoft.
In 2016-17, we worked with diverse, forward-thinking artists using Microsoft tech to transform the way we create and experience music.
For New Zealand duo Broods, we rethought the music video, creating a deeper, more emotional layer for their second single, “Heartlines.”
The Microsoft Band fitness tracker measured lead singer Georgia Nott’s heart rate, skin temperature, and movement as she performed, translating her biodata into a stunning geometric display.
Using Microsoft Kinect and Azure, we developed an exciting physical and digital experience for Childish Gambino fans worldwide: Pharos.
Childish Gambino provided fans remote access to the live show via a VR vinyl release of Awaken, My Love!.
To christen KEXP’s new home, we updated its live performance space. Using Kinect, we installed 2,000+ LED lights that respond to performers’ movements, all controlled by the Microsoft Surface.
We transformed M83’s song, “Go,” into an interactive game, just in time for the single’s release.
“Meet Me at Go” is a fast-paced racing game optimized for touch-screen machines like the Surface Pro, allowing fans to experience M83’s music in an entirely new way.
We brought Washed Out’s visual album, Mister Mellow, to life on stage.
Using visuals created via Microsoft Kinect technology, we were able to recreate Ernest Greene’s (aka Washed Out) bold vision for tour, creating an immersive live experience for fans.
