We brought together acclaimed musician St. Vincent, LGBTQ+ rights organization The Ally Coalition, and Microsoft AI to create Feel the Pride in honor of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall.
Amplifying the voices of the global LGBTQ+ community and allies, Feel the Pride is an immersive sound and light installation.
By sharing what Pride means to them — either at our installation space or on Twitter using our hashtag #FeelThePride — LGBTQ+ community members and allies around the world could influence this ever-changing audiovisual display.
Made of layers of LED lights and a custom soundscape by St. Vincent, the room reacts to personal messages, translated and brought to life by Microsoft’s Sentiment Analysis API.
The API deciphers where on the spectrum of negative to positive each message is, and assigns it a unique color and loop of music — meaning that every guest and every message has a hand in bringing Feel the Pride to life.
